How this inventory is counted
Shared production inventory used to build multiple arrays; some used all 110 cameras, others used subsets. Not added again to global inventory: overlap with existing portable-camera pools and exact per-shot acquisition modes remain unresolved.
One production, many camera arrangements
Volucap identifies a 2020 inventory of 36 RED MONSTRO, 34 XIMEA 5K, 32 Panasonic GH5S and 8 RED KOMODO cameras: 110 cameras in all. The shown systems and approximately ten further variants drew on this shared inventory. Some used the complete fleet simultaneously; others used subsets. These are changing production arrangements, not additional permanent stages. A later, more specific Volucap clarification identifies the Matrix Highres Rig as 32 MONSTRO plus the same 36 RGB 5120×3840 XIMEA installed from early 2018. The earlier programme ledger listed 34 XIMEA; its exact allocation is not fully reconciled with the 36-camera studio inventory. Neither ledger is added again to global totals.
2019 · Going underwater
The underwater installation was built in 2019. The supplied photograph shows performers beside its housings and scaffold. The demonstration below presents reconstructed test imagery; it should not be read as proof that underwater footage appears in the released film.
2020 · Taking the array into the shot
The operator dates development of its largest handheld Matrix system to 2020. Camera positions changed to suit the shot. Tracks, cables, cranes and handheld arrangements gave the team alternatives to a single fixed stage.
2021 · Release, with a separate development history
The film was released in 2021. The firsthand filmmaker interview says the underwater work remained a test, while other array-based photography contributed to the production. A development milestone, a recording session and a final-film credit are different events.
Camera return and retained inventory
The MONSTRO cameras were returned at the end of 2021. Volucap kept all 36 XIMEA; they and the separately catalogued GH5S stock remained available for shoots. The 46-camera high-resolution upgrade began from 2022 without disposing of the XIMEA pool. The mixed rig’s approximately 1840.3 MP is a camera-maximum estimate, using MONSTRO 8192×4320 and confirmed XIMEA 5120×3840; actual mixed-rig native FPS and recording window remain unpublished.

Bespoke Matrix camera systems
Development/BTS reel; the operator describes at least eight rig variants. Variants are not eight additional simultaneous stages.

Release year is not capture year. Late 2019 owner testimony and 2020 Aboutpage chronology remain distinct from publication and release dates.
Public native source sequences and exact underwatercamera recording mode were not inspected.
Capture, development, publication and film release are distinct dates. A rig variant is not additional simultaneous capacity. Reviewed 2026-10-28.
